Color
Color can enhance your content, but you must make sure that your design has sufficient color contrast for accessibility and usability. “Color contrast does not meet minimum requirement” is a common Siteimprove issue. Use the tools listed on this page to find colors that meet accessibility requirements. View a recording of the Color Tools Fix-it Clinic.
Berkeley brand colors
The Berkeley brand palette has been updated with more accessible colors. Scroll to the bottom of the Colors page for their “Find a color pairing” tool.
Checking color contrast
If you know the hexadecimal values for the colors you want to use, go to WebAIM’s Contrast Checker page to see if they have sufficient contrast. WebAIM also provides a Link Contrast Checker that will tell you whether your link color has sufficient contrast with the surrounding text and background.

Identifying colors
To identify a color on a webpage, use the ColorZilla browser extension. ColorZilla can analyze the colors on a webpage and provide their hex codes.
